September 29

After my first Leadership Lecture Series class, I went to the park to meet with my kindergarten friend, Amanda, and our friend Alli for Amanda's birthday. During our first LLS class, we played a networking game of everyone holding hands and passing hula hoops around everyone's body and me and this guy went through the hula hoop together each time, it was epic. It was the first time I went to critter country since the internship started...so naturally, we get into the line for splash mountain. As it was Amanda's birthday and I was a cast member, it seemed that the Disney gods were smiling upon us (probably because I give a cast member essence - people always ask me for directions, questions, or to take their pictures and such when I'm off duty and playing in the park, they spot me in a crowd and part the seas to get to me) and we got to go in the second line that just opened up and literally hopped right onto a log for the ride. I sat in the front, Alli next, and then Amanda...we got drenched...even the little hills seemed to think that they were the big splash mountain and were supposed to get us wet. After splash, we visited Tigger and Pooh, and then went on the train with this adorable little girl, Maddy, who said, "Oh my gosh! We're going on a choo choo!!! AREYOUASEXCITEDASME?"

All in all it was a good day, full of rides, fun, laughter, and joyous birthday celebration. Susan came after work and we went on tower of terror and screaming before the girls split from us with their World of Color fastpass tickets. Susan and I went on the boardwalk and rode the new Silly Symphony Swings, as well as Mulholland Madness. Such a wonderful thing to be with Susan so much more now since we're so close together!

August 17

Due to the fact that this blog started late, I have entries for days that were before I started my blog, starting with this one.

Of course, with any new job, or any new endeavor in life, comes change. I was changing zip codes, I changed my number, my address, bought new clothes, donated clothes, bought new stuff for my apartment, and left stuff behind at home. I had to get adjusted to the working life, away from Indiana, and Chicago, and Michael and Twix, and yet another adjustment away from home and having little responsibility but getting myself prepped to living with four other girls in an apartment while going to work and school full time. However, working for Disney, there was one more thing I needed to change...my highlighted hair...so once we came down to the O.C. we headed for the mall and I got "new hair." Thing was, it isn't my natural hair color, of course, but it was jet black...something I've never EVER had before.

Halloween

Tuesday is my first of three Mickey's Halloween Parties...Susan is going to one (or two) with me, and we've decided to be Jaq and Gus from Cinderella, and Tricia will join as Lucifer at the third party! Costumes to come...for now, a picture of our inspiration.

A Sunny Day in Hollywood

Watching Beauty and the Beast on the big screen was AMAZING.

Galen, Kevin, and I left Carnegie Plaza around 8:30 am to hit the "open road" of the 5 freeway. We traveled to Hollywood, a first for Galen, a second for me, and of course, for the Arizonite...the millionth time or so. Galen and I just found it so funny that the one from Arizona was the one showing the Californians around Hollywood.

We went and saw various stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as we left the parking structure to go to the theatre. We entered into El Capitan, the first guests of the day, and I glanced at various props and memorabilia from Disney's Secretariat as the boys got their drinks, an ICEE and a pepsi (Galen was so excited for the non-Coke products).

We entered the theatre house and got center seats right up front. The curtains were split, raised, split, and raised, and split yet again to reveal the screen which showed three previews: Secretariat (inspiring!), Gnomeo and Juliet (hilarious!), and Tangled (just in general, AMAZING!).

After the previews, Belle spun and twirled on stage, welcoming us to sing along with the movie, as the show, after all, was advertised as "Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long at El Capitan Theatre." As Belle exited the stage, the curtains divided (yes, yet again) and the movie started to play. It was the most glorious 90 minutes of Beauty and the Beast I had ever seen in my life. Such a big and beautiful crisp and digitally remastered make of the movie...and singing along with the boys was its own barrel of fun.

Afterwards, we went into the little Disney Store and I bought a Rose pin as a keepsake. We walked around and ran into a bunch of Jesus advertisers (that's the best way to describe them) and their shirts all said, "Follow Jesus Christ. Please don't go to Hell."

We concluded our trip of Hollywood by looking at the movies of the year posted as we headed to the parking garage. We decided we want to eventually go to the Price is Right together, eventually, as we headed to Third and Fairfax, home of the L.A. farmer's market, where I bought Disney stickers and we ate delicious crepes!

All in all, a wonderful day that cost less than $25 a person, including food, travel, and entertainment! I can't wait 'til we all go out again!

After Hollywood, I went home and went Halloween shopping with Susan and we watched Beauty and the Beast, again...yes. I love being able to see my best friend on a weekly basis.

So it all begins again...

I've decided I need to start blogging again, especially since people are all asking about my experiences here at Disney and all. I can only tell about things few and far between and about the friends I've made, but in the 50 days of working for Disney, I can tell you, I can already fill a book or two with those wonderful stories.

What's this blog about?

Twix is my Reagle (Rottweiler/Beagle), he's nine months old, and a precious part of my life. My boyfriend got Twix for my birthday, and when we went to get him, we found out his birthday is our anniversary and we knew it was meant to be.
I played this video and Twix was so confused with what was going on.
