I woke up this morning and text Bre to go with me to Irvine, because even though the CHOC walk is in Disneyland, early check-in is in Irvine. Bre and I got ready to go and then discovered that check-in didn't start until 11, and Bre had work at 11:30 so we decided not to go.
Matt and I then decided to go see Aladdin the musical, but we wanted to see my friends of Aladdin and Jasmine at the Oasis and watch Billy Hill and the Hillbillies before my interview with James-Ryan.
Matt and I dashed to K-Lot and to the Oasis, but sadly Aladdin and Jasmine had already left the Oasis and were headed to the show in California Adventure, so we did too. We sat in the orchestra seating and watched as amazing show, we didn't realize how long the show would be so we headed backstage and I headed to my interview with James-Ryan.
As I talked with James-Ryan about the ELP and being on TSA, he said a lot of wonderful, insightful, and helpful things, but the question he posed to me that really sticks in my mind is, "What is the difference between a leader and a manager?" I do believe they are different, but now I must try and distinguish the difference.
After the interview, I worked view for about 7 hours. I tried to make magical moments with guests, helping them get the best pictures possible and the best deals possible, and having a fun time in the process. I worked with two vets, Stacey and Ben, which was fun because they taught me a lot of tricks.
While I was working fulfillment and putting prints into packages, a guest yelled at me, saying that I was ignoring her and that I should say that it would be just a moment before I would help them, claiming that I was being very rude. At the moment the guest had done this, I was asking Stacey a question, and Stacey just put her hand up and said to the guest, "Ma'am, we'll be with you after we are done helping the guests before you." I had to leave on break and when I came back, Ben would not stop teasing me to tell guests that the three of us will be with them after we are done helping the guests we are with.
After work, Erin and I were starved so we headed to In-n-Out but the line was so long we settled for Taco Bell...most amazing six layer burrito that I remember having because I was so hungry! Now it's time for bed because Bre and I have to leave for work at 6:45...meaning I have to be up in about 5 hours, oh yay!
Besides being called rude, today was an excellent day off and on work. ElecTRONica looks awesome, and I can't wait for the cast show on Monday. I think it's awesome that I can hear World of Color from the cast shuttle. I think it's awesome that I can go watch Aladdin the musical and then go into work all at the same place. I love, love, love my job.
