A Sunny Day in Hollywood

Watching Beauty and the Beast on the big screen was AMAZING.

Galen, Kevin, and I left Carnegie Plaza around 8:30 am to hit the "open road" of the 5 freeway. We traveled to Hollywood, a first for Galen, a second for me, and of course, for the Arizonite...the millionth time or so. Galen and I just found it so funny that the one from Arizona was the one showing the Californians around Hollywood.

We went and saw various stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as we left the parking structure to go to the theatre. We entered into El Capitan, the first guests of the day, and I glanced at various props and memorabilia from Disney's Secretariat as the boys got their drinks, an ICEE and a pepsi (Galen was so excited for the non-Coke products).

We entered the theatre house and got center seats right up front. The curtains were split, raised, split, and raised, and split yet again to reveal the screen which showed three previews: Secretariat (inspiring!), Gnomeo and Juliet (hilarious!), and Tangled (just in general, AMAZING!).

After the previews, Belle spun and twirled on stage, welcoming us to sing along with the movie, as the show, after all, was advertised as "Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long at El Capitan Theatre." As Belle exited the stage, the curtains divided (yes, yet again) and the movie started to play. It was the most glorious 90 minutes of Beauty and the Beast I had ever seen in my life. Such a big and beautiful crisp and digitally remastered make of the movie...and singing along with the boys was its own barrel of fun.

Afterwards, we went into the little Disney Store and I bought a Rose pin as a keepsake. We walked around and ran into a bunch of Jesus advertisers (that's the best way to describe them) and their shirts all said, "Follow Jesus Christ. Please don't go to Hell."

We concluded our trip of Hollywood by looking at the movies of the year posted as we headed to the parking garage. We decided we want to eventually go to the Price is Right together, eventually, as we headed to Third and Fairfax, home of the L.A. farmer's market, where I bought Disney stickers and we ate delicious crepes!

All in all, a wonderful day that cost less than $25 a person, including food, travel, and entertainment! I can't wait 'til we all go out again!

After Hollywood, I went home and went Halloween shopping with Susan and we watched Beauty and the Beast, again...yes. I love being able to see my best friend on a weekly basis.
